Brass Band Aid is lookijng for 70 young, enthusiastic brass and percussion players from the North of England, who would like to perform on the stage of the North’s premiere venue – The Sage in Gateshead — all to help a fantastic project in Africa!
Into Africa
Under the direction of Stve Robson and Ray Farr the event will take pace on Sunday 29th June at 2.00pm at The Sage under the banner 'World Dances — Into Africa'
The overall aim is to help Brass Band Aid to raise funds to enable the building of a school in Adet, EthiopiaBBA
Project aims
The project aims to offer young people from the North of England the opportunity to get together and perform in a fabulous auditorium, with the support of the current Scottish Champion Whitburn Band under the direction of Ray Farr.

Music
Music performed by the Northern Youth Band will be selected from the Brass Band Aid project “Into Africa”, along with a newly commissioned work from Stephen Roberts- “World Dances”.
You will need to be:-
Ø 18 or under
Ø From the Northern Region
Ø An enthusiastic brass or percussion player
Ø Available on both Sunday 22nd & Sunday 29th June 2008
Ø Capable of performing the programme with only 2 rehearsals.
Registration fee
A copy of the CD “Into Africa” will be sent to each performer upon receipt of a £15 registration fee, together with all necessary music.
Guide
A Brass Band Aid pin badge will be provided on the concert day for all performers to wear. As a guide, we would suggest players need to be around Grade IV/V standard to be able to meet the challenges of the event.
