The British Open Championship has confirmed to 4BR that bands at this year's Spring Festival in Blackpool will be able to purchase up to 30 reduced priced 'Listener Wristbands' specifically for band members to listen to fellow competitors.
Performer and listener
An appropriate number of 'Stage Performer' wristbands will still be issued to each band to facilitate procedure organisation of the 103rd event. These must be worn by players to allow them to perform on stage.
In addition, bands will be able to purchase up to 30 'Listener Wristbands' at the cost of £5.00 each.
Players
These are to be allocated to players so that they can also enjoy performances from other bands in addition to their own, in one or all of the Grand Shield, Senior Cup and Senior Trophy competitions.
The players will need to display both the stage performer and listener wristband together to allow further entry into the contest auditoriums throughout the day.
All players and members of the public will be allowed into the auditorium (with consideration given for health and safety requirements) for the announcement of the results.
In addition, bands will be able to purchase up to 30 'Listener Wristbands' at the cost of £5.00 each4BR
Sustainable
A spokesperson for the Mortimer family told 4BR: "We are determined to develop the long-term future of the British Open Spring Festival based on sustainable financial and musical foundations.
The process has already seen significant progress made through detailed professional advice undertaken alongside the views and opinions of representatives of competing bands and stakeholder partners."
