The Association of Brass Band Adjudicators (AoBBA) has announced that Roger Argente, the former bass trombone of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Head of Brass at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff has joined the organisation.
A renowned professional player and teacher, he is also the founder of the brass ensemble 'Superbrass' as well as a music publisher, ambassador for Youth Music and former President of the British Trombone Society.
Delighted
Speaking about his appointment as a full member he said: "I'm delighted to join the Association.
Since moving back to my musical roots in 2018 I've thoroughly enjoyed meeting old and new friends in the brass band world and can't wait to get further involved in the important work AoBBA undertakes."
Vast experience
In response, AoBBA spokesperson Christopher Bond added: "Roger's vast experience as both a player and educator speaks for itself, and we're delighted to welcome him as we strive to deliver professional and experienced adjudication for the contesting movement."
