Brighouse and Rastrick has announced that Chris Gomersall has joined the band on solo trombone following the departure of Gary MacPhee.

The band has extended its thanks and appreciation to Gary who has left due to increasing professional playing commitments.
Winner
Originally from, Jarrow, Tyne and Wear, Chris started playing in the Salvation Army. He was formerly Principal Trombone of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain, was a brass finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition, former British Open Trombone Champion and Warwick Music/The Valve national trombone competition winner.
He has performed with orchestras and ensembles such as the Britten Sinfonia, English Brass Ensemble and the Grimethorpe Colliery Band4BR
Scholarship
Chris studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Denis Wick, Ian Bousfield and Dudley Bright, and was awarded an Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music undergraduate scholarship and the Mark Elliot scholarship.
Spring Festival
He has performed with orchestras and ensembles such as the Britten Sinfonia, English Brass Ensemble and the Grimethorpe Colliery Band and most recently played for the Fishburn Band at the Spring Festival in Blackpool.
