Launched late last year at the Melbourne International Festival of Brass (MIFB), The Music Page ( www.themusicpage.com) is an exciting new website that is currently in its 'beta' version.
Basic concept
The basic concept of easy access to the best, most inspirational educators, performers and performances has been taken 'online' by Festival co-director Geoff Collinson — with assistance from John Collinson and Paul Evans who have also been key supporters of the MIFB.
Currently consolidating its foundation in brass music, The Music Page is beginning to expand to cover chamber, orchestral, wind band and vocal music.
The Music Page team is currently working on streaming the 2008 New Zealand Brass Band Championships this Friday, Saturday and Sunday4BR
Live and free
The Music Page provides 'live' access to a number of key events worldwide. Although still in its 'beta' version, The Music Page is currently live streaming key concerts from around the globe.
From the Schagerl Brass Festival in Austria, The All England Masters in Cambridge, to chamber music in Melbourne and the English National Brass Band Championships in Preston — The Music Page aims to provide free access to some of the most inspirational performers and performances available.
On demand
All videos that go live are edited, then uploaded onto www.themusicpage.com where they can be viewed 'on demand'.
Videos of performances from the MIFB, Cambridge All England Masters, Schagerl Brass Festival are already available to be viewed on demand at www.themusicpage.com. Videos from last week's ENBBC are going up over the next few days.
New Zealand Championships
The Music Page team is currently working on streaming the 2008 New Zealand Brass Band Championships this Friday, Saturday and Sunday — and is also streaming concerts from the 1st International Belgian Brass Academy until Saturday.
With the exciting addition of 'live chat' for users viewing live streams as well as the amazing amount of on demand content.
