"Brass is here to stay," said Neil Hillier, strategic manager Arts, Heritage and Culture services for Durham County Council.
Neil added: "It is a festival doused in heritage with the potential to become a true world beater and a musical institution in the Brass world."

Melanie Sensicle, chief executive of the County Durham Tourism Partnership, said: "Durham is the perfect place to host an international Brass music festival and this summer’s event will see Durham city and county become one of the UK’s must-visit destinations for a live music and entertainment experience."
