It was an extremley long day for the adjudicator, Mr Sydney Swancott from Doncaster, because of the large entry. The contest commenced at 10.00am and ended at 6.30pm.
The MC for the event was the Yorkshire Regional Secretary, Mrs Peggy Tomlinson. Prizes were presented by one of the band's vice-presidents Lady Patricia Thompson.
