Desford Colliery Band is currently enjoying its regular tour visit of Asia, with appearances in Thailand and Singapore culminating in a Gala concert alongside trumpet virtuoso James Morrison.

The first stop includes a joint concert at Kasetsart University in Bangkok where the band aims to inspire the next generation of brass players through educational activities and collaborative performances.

Wizard of Oz

Under conductor Jonathan Pippen, the band will perform three main events over 10 days with the concert with the 'Wizard of Oz' at the magnificent Victoria Hall in Singapore.

Band Chairperson Peter Smith stated: "We're thrilled to return to Asia and continue our mission of inspiring young musicians.

We are especially looking forward to our collaboration with James Morrison — it's sure to be a memorable experience for everyone to hear him in action."
