You can get your entries in quickly for the popular Gloucestershire Brass Band Association (GBBA) Own Choice March & Test Piece Contest that takes place in November.

The entry list is now open for the popular Gloucestershire Brass Band Association (GBBA) Own Choice March & Test Piece Contest.

The event will take place on Sunday 24th November at Chosen Hill School, Brookfield Road, Churchdown, Glos (GL3 2PL). The adjudicator will be Dr Brett Baker DMA, MA, ARCM (Hons)

Two classes

There are two classes of competition with section prizes on offer.

Class A: Championship, First, Second, Third & Fourth Section Bands.
An Own-Choice March and Test Piece
Class B: Youth, Training & Unregistered Bands
To encourage class B participation, bands may perform either a march and test piece or a 15-minute programme that includes a march.

Entry Fee:


Class A: £125 for GBBA members / £140 non GBBA members
Class B: £40

May 2 • Bb Basses. With Colin Dance now appointed as our MD and our other Bb Bass leaving due to work commitments, we have openings for two Bb basses. We are a friendly community (4th section?) band with a variety of gigs including our own Proms in the Park.
