There is to be a welcome return to the concert stage for Askam Town Band next month, as the Cumbrian band relaunches itself with a fundraising concert for the cancer charity, 'Looking Good, Feeling Great' in their village bandhall on Wednesday 24th July.
History
The band was formed in 1888 and during its history won at the Belle Vue May contest as well as qualifying for the National Finals — the last time in 1993. Their last contest appearance came at the North of England Regional Championships in 2004.
At one point they were down to just three players, but now under the baton of the experienced baton Andrew Warriner they will be showcasing a range of material covering the Beatles to Buble and from Elvis to the Bangles.
Tickets can be purchased on the door and all proceeds go the 'Looking Good, Feeling Great' cancer support charity.
