4BR has been informed that the 10th Annual Holme Valley Slow Melody & Ensemble competition will be held at Hade Edge Bandroom on Saturday 9th November, starting at 10.00am.

Organiser Graham Bates commented: "We've enjoyed running previous events in June, but it was felt that moving away from that time of year to avoid exams and holidays may help to encourage more support, especially in the younger age groups."

He added: "Whilst we had nearly 30 performances last year, it was suggested that we move to the November date to see what impact this would have.

It will have the usual format and more details will be released in due course, but as people are planning their summer diaries we thought it wise to confirm our new date at this time."
