The Haslingden & Helmshore Band has announced the signing of Ryan Brown as their new solo baritone from Rossendale 2nd Scouts Band.

Delighted

A delighted band spokesman Phil Smith told 4BR: "Ryan is an incredibly talented musician from the Rossendale Valley and is the latest signing in what has been such an encouraging period of rebuilding and rejuvenation.

It's a long overdue first to attract such great local talent and having Ryan on board proves we are going in the right direction."

Like minded

Meanwhile, Ryan added: "I'm delighted to join such a friendly band, with a great MD and some really talented like-minded musicians. I'm originally a euphonium player but didn't have to think too hard about the change when I was offered the solo baritone seat."
