Josh Hughes leaves the role of Musical Director at City of Chester Band.

The City of Chester Band has announced the resignation of Musical Director Josh Hughes due to personal commitments which have led him to re-locate to Chorley in Lancashire.

During his time with the North West outfit he led them to a notable third place finish in the Second Section of the North West BBA contest in Rochdale — their highest placed contest finish since the early 1990's

Band Secretary Kate Harland told 4BR: "We wish Josh and Katherine well with their future banding plans and with their new baby. We thank him for the time, energy and commitment he has given us since his appointment earlier this year."

4BR understands that news about a replacement will follow in January. Meanwhile in the run-up to Christmas the band is playing a series of concerts and carolling events, helping to raise funds for a number of local charities and organisations.
