The Harborough Band from Leicestershire has joined the growing number of bands and international solo artists in choosing to perform on Geneva Instruments.
The First Section Midlands band recently took delivery of their new cornets, trombones and flugel horn.
Impressive comments
Band Secretary Jacqui Pacey told 4BR: “Having tried various brands we decided to try Geneva, after hearing many impressive comments from fellow brass banders.
We also thought that if Geneva are good enough for artists like James Fountain, Glenn van Looy and the Brighouse & Rastrick, they're good enough for us!
So far our trombone and cornet sections are playing the outstanding Geneva Symphony range and our latest addition is the new Symphony flugel horn.”
Lovely smooth action
Principal cornet player, John Pacey added: “The Geneva cornet has a lovely, smooth valve action. I also like the main tuning slide trigger, which is easy and comfortable to use. I’ve found that the higher and lower registers are much more attainable than my previous instruments."
Jacqui added: “We have noticed that intonation and tone quality within the trombone and cornet sections is much improved — which has obviously had a knock on effect to the overall sound of the band.
The service we have received from the Geneva team has been incredible. We’ve had visits to the band room from company representatives who have always been available for advice.
We highly recommend Geneva Instruments and the service they offer to other bands looking at purchasing new instruments.”

What they wanted
Gregan Quick from Geneva Instruments told 4BR: “We’ve been working together with Harborough over recent months making sure that our products were exactly what they wanted.
We are of course delighted they’ve chosen our products and it’s great to see the cornet section, trombones and flugel horn performing on our Symphony instruments.
They’ve been a great group to work with and we wish them every success on the new instruments and look forward to working again with them in the future.”
