The Leicestershire Brass Band Association (LBBA) has announced the list of competing bands that will take part in this year’s LBBA Open competition, to be held on Sunday 23rd November at Charnwood College in Loughborough, Leicestershire.
Fine response
There has been a fine response from local and bands from outside the Midlands region — with the First Section contest attracting the largest ever field in the event’s history.
The adjudicators who are going to be kept busy are Alan Morrison, David Hirst, John Roberts and Stan Lippeatt.
Striving to respond
LBBA Secretary Lesley Bentley told 4BR: "We are always striving to respond to feedback we get from our participating bands, including requests such as a full pre-draw, which this contest supports.
We believe this helps and encourages bands to participate and to best plan for their day."
Also proving equally as popular is the Unregistered Section where LBBA member bands perform a short 12-minute own choice programme.
Welcome
Lesley added: “We would like to wish all participating bands the very best of luck, and look forward to welcoming everyone to Leicestershire."
