4BR has been informed of the death of Richard ‘Dick’ Ferris, one of the best loved characters of Leicestershire banding, who died Wednesday 20th August 2014, aged 93.
World traveller
Dick started his banding life playing euphonium with the Shropshire Light Infantry, with whom he travelled the world.
As a proud and loyal bandsman and conductor he enjoyed lifelong associations with just two local bands: Barlestone Victoria and Ratby Silver.
