The impassioned debate concerning the future development of the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland continues to polarise opinion through the comments page of 4BR.
Opinions
Former Scottish Brass Band Association Development Officer Alan Edmond has now replied to the response from SBBA to his original open letter on 4BR, whilst well known former tenor horn soloist Gordon Higginbottom has written in support of SBBA ending what he calls an ‘auto-acceptance forever’ policy.
Puzzled and deeply concerned
Alan Edmond states that he remains, "puzzled and deeply concerned that at present the future of the National Youth Band of Scotland seems to be in such jeopardy," as he sets out further questions concerning the strategic way in which he believes the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland is currently being run.
That's life
Meanwhile, Gordon Higginbottom gives reasons for his support to end a ‘Full Up’ youth band situation by stating his belief that, "I realise it may be hard for some players to accept non-acceptance, but that’s life."
