Spaces have become available for a free BBC Proms ‘Inspire’ Young Composers Lab, taking place at BBC Hoddinott Hall in Cardiff Bay on Saturday 28th April between 10.30am — 5.00pm.

Opportunity

‘Inspire’ is the BBC Proms scheme that aims to encourage and foster the talent of young composers from all around Britain, and the Cardiff Lab is the final workshop opportunity of this year’s scheme.

Aimed at young people aged 12 to 18, interested in writing music and keen to push at the boundaries of their musical world, the event will be led by composers Fraser Trainer and Anna Meredith.

They will provide young composers with the opportunity to write and have their music played by BBC National Orchestra of Wales musicians who will be on hand during the day.

Young composers can attend the BBC Proms Inspire Composer Lab and/or enter your original piece of music to the BBC Proms Inspire Young Composers’ Competition which offers winners an unrivalled opportunity to have it performed by professional musicians at the BBC Proms and broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
