Trombone star Brett Baker has been revelling in his latest USA tour, after putting in 'finger lickin' tasty performances in Kentucky, Ohio and Virginia.
Soloist
After completing workshops at the University of Eastern Kentucky and the University of Kentucky in Lexington, he played as guest soloist for the Lexington Brass Band, conducted by Ron Holz.
Brett performed a new arrangement of 'Phenomenal Polka' by Frederick Innes, arranged by Mark Freeh and 'Romance' by Carl von Weber arranged John Mortimer, which both were première performances.

Rarely heard
Towards the end of the concert Brett played a rarely heard version of the Wagenseil 'Trombone Concerto', with accompanist Tedrin Lindsay, whilst as a finale he performed 'Peace like a River' by Stephen Bulla, with the trombone section before an impromptu encore of 'Annie Laurie'.
After the concert he set off for a rehearsal with Derby City Brass and another workshop at the University of Cincinnati.
God and Country
Brett is due to visit Cincinnati Brass Band under conductor, Anita Cocker-Hunt this week, before heading to Ohio for the 'God and Country Concert Festival', with Chapel Brass and old friend Keith Wilkinson.
Finally, Brett will travel to the James Madison University Brass Band for a premiere of the brass band version of the 'T-Bone Concerto' by Johan de Meij.
