The Haworth Band, one of the oldest bands in the UK, has announced the appointment of their new Musical Director Mark Wildie.
Mark told 4BR: "This is something I have wanted to do for a while and when the position became available the offer was too good for me to turn down."

Further good news
Mark will remain at Wakefield Metropolitan Band as EEb Bass player, whilst there was further good news for the band with the announcement that that the talented Stephen Quinlan is remaining as principal cornet.
The band also hopes to return to contesting in 2013.
A spokesperson added: "With a host of new signings and a busy concert programme for 2012, it's fantastic news that a band so traditional and old as Haworth is rising back up like a phoenix from the ashes."
