The 5th Aalborg Music Competition is set to take place next month in Denmark.

Major event

A spokesperson told 4BR: "This has become a major event in the Danish brass band year, and the importance can be seen by the standard of competing bands and the major attraction of David Childs to perform and adjudicate."

The contest will take place on Saturday 12th May, with low brass, high brass and conducting masterclasses taking place the day before featuring David Childs, Iain Culross and Jacob Vilhelm Larsen respectively.

Growing

The growing competition has also attracted a new band in Holstebro Brass in the Championship A Section, who will hope to battle for the title with reigning champions Frederikshavn FDF Brass and other rivals.
