1st Old Boys Band regained the Brass Band League (NI) trophy at the Spring Festival at the Alley Theatre in Strabane on the weekend.

Playing their own choice selection of Gilbert Vinter's ‘Salute to Youth’, described a ‘superb’ by adjudicator Colin Hardy they took the honours beating the returning Strabane Concert Brass into second place with Murley Silver in third.
The band's principal cornet player Mark Bingham claimed the Harry Gault Memorial Cup as ‘Best Soloist’, whilst principal conductor Stephen Cairns won the Harry Brittain Cup as ‘Best Conductor’.

In the Second Section victory was claimed by Roughan Silver, whilst Comber Silver took the Third Section title and Poyntzpass the Fourth.
St Michael’s College and Third Carrickfergus took the Schools and Junior Youth titles.
