Making Music, the UK membership organisation representing almost 4,000 leisure-time music groups, has appointed Ben Saffell as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Having worked at the organisation for over 12 years holding a range of senior leadership roles, he has served as Interim CEO, leading the organisation through a period of transition as it continues to support choirs, orchestras, bands, promoters and other music groups.
Brilliant members
Speaking about his new role he said: "I'm delighted. The role of music in society and in our everyday lives has never been more important. Making Music, together with our brilliant members can help ensure those benefits are understood, realised and available to everyone.
I'm excited to work with our fantastic staff team and trustees to build on our strong foundations, strengthen our impact and support the wonderful people who make music groups happen."
Impressed
In response, Chairperson of Trustees Margaret Harrison added: "The Board was unanimously impressed by Ben's commitment, insight and vision for our future.
As we enter this exciting next chapter, we are confident that Ben is the perfect leader to champion our members, expand our reach and inspire even more people to experience the joy of making music together."
