As part of a series of ongoing events to mark the 180th anniversary of the pioneering journey of Stephenson's Rocket train, arts organisation Metal, who are based at Edge Hill Station, are attempting to reform the famous Edge Hill British Rail Band for a one off performance on the 13th November.
First railway line
The first railway line between two cities opened in 1830 between Liverpool and Manchester, and the Egde Hill Station was the first standing passenger station in the world.
Metal is working with Liverpool based conductor, Louise Hough, to re-form the band, by asking former members to join forces with Louise's Formby Band for a late afternoon, early evening of nostalgia, music, food and drink4BR

The band's one off performance will be part of a day full of art, theatre, film and sculpture inspired by the unique history of Edge Hill Station and promises to be a particularly special for one former member — details to follow after the event!!
