The Scottish Open Brass Band Championship will take place in fine surroundings of the Perth Concert Hall on the weekend of the 28th/29th November.
60 bands
The two days will feature 60 bands performing in the Scottish Open, Challenge Cup, Challenge Shield and Youth Championship contests, with bands from as far afield as the USA making the trip to take part.
Bragging rights
The main Scottish Open will provide the top domestic bands with the final opportunity to impose their bragging rights at the end of the 2009 season, although reigning champion, Co-operative Funeralcare will have to overcome the challenge of seven English rivals and the current US National and Open Champion, Fountain City in a 17 band field.
