A re-make of one of the great westerns of cinema history, 'The Magnificent 7' has been announced — although this time it will be with a quirky touch!
Hard man
Irvine Welsh (writer of 'Trainspotting') is to direct the new film, which starts shooting in September, with a cast that will include 'hard man' Ray Winstone and his daughter, Robert Vaughan, Richard Fairbrass and Raj Kapur in principal roles.
No cameo role unfortunatley, but plenty of music, with a remit that seems to be 'Bollywood meets Elmer Bernstein'4BR
Curry House
The film is not one that really retells the great story though, as this one is all about a local football team (the 11) who are sponsored by the local curry house (the original Mexican peons)who are being ripped off by a local protection racket (original banditos) headed by Richard Fairbrass.
Last survivor
Veteran Hollywood actor Robert Vaughan, will play a cameo role (as he is the last surviving member cast of the original 'Magnificent 7') as an American businessman, with Raj Kaupr as the son of curry house owner.
As for Phil?
No cameo role unfortunatley, but plenty of music, with a remit that seems to be 'Bollywood meets Elmer Bernstein'.
