Pleasure
Udo Werdeling, Regional Sales Manager of York Brass Instruments for Scandinavia told 4BR: "It’s a real pleasure to be a sponsor of Grenland International Brass Festival. Set piece, own choice piece as well as a church music program makes this event different from many other brass band events."
He added: "During the Festival, York will have their full range of brass instruments on display in the lobby of the “Ibsen’s Huset”, including the new series of Prescience brass instruments. It will be an exciting weekend and I am looking forward to meeting many brass band enthusiasts at the York trade stand and also hope to get the opportunity to listen to some of the competing bands."
York prizes
York Brass instruments will provide two instruments of the new Prescience line for the winners of 1st and 2nd prize of the 1st division of the contest.
Childs masterclass
In addition the Schreiber & Keilwerth Musikinstrumente GmbH winning band will get a Master Class Day with top York Artist David Childs and the opportunity to perform a gala concert with David as soloist.
Fan
David Childs added: "For many years Scandinavia has produced some of the world's finest brass players so it is no coincidence Scandinavia is now home to several of our finest brass bands.
"I am a fan of the Grenland International Brass Festival and wish every success to all the competing musicians. It will be a great honour and privilege to work with the winning band and something I will genuinely look forward to. I wish you all the very best of luck."
