Welsh champion Tredeagr has announced that due to pressure of work, soprano player Steve Barnsley has stepped down from his position.
Adrian Williams, who is a student at RWCMD and pupil of Phillip Schartz, will take over the position with immediate effect.
Musicality
Musical Director Ian Porthouse told 4BR: "Steve has been an integral part of the re-building process at Tredegar, where his fantastic playing and experience has helped return the band to the top echelons of banding. Steve's innate musicality and special sound have enhanced our performances over the last year and he will be a hard act to follow."
Adrian will make his debut at the Yeovil contest this weekend, whilst Steve will remain registered with the band.

Great attitude
The talented Vicki Reynolds also joins on solo horn, with Ian Porthouse adding, "Vicky came to my attention as a member of the European Youth Band in Birmingham 2007. She is a player of immense talent with a great attitude and work ethic regarding her playing."
He continued: "Vicky is studying with Owen Farr at RWCMD who I’m sure will help to realise her maximum potential, although we will have to watch out for dodgy advice leading up to contests involving his own band!"
Two further signings have been confirmed in Michelle Hocking (Ebb Tuba) and Robin Morgan (Tutti Cornet), both of whom recently joined and the band.
