Beaumaris Band fought off strong opposition from Northop and current holders Yorkshire Co-op to win the top prize and the North Wales Shield at the Association’s annual championships on Saturday 29th November.
Winners
Drawn number one, Beaumaris also took the prize for the best march and their Principal Cornet, Nicholas Hughes was picked out by adjudicator Stan Lippeatt as the best soloist.
Delight
Association Chairman, Jim Williams expressed his delight at the turn out for the Championships which were strongly contested in all but one section.
The only disappointment was that only one band had entered the specially created Section 5 designed to encourage bands that are reforming, back into the contesting scene.
