The Newhall Band has announced its delighted after having achieved their best contest result for some time, and their first trophy for several years.
Well deserved
The annual West Midlands Brass Band Association contest held at Leamington Spa is an own-choice contest, and this year Newhall performed 'Henry the Fifth' by Ralph Vaughan Williams, resulting in them gaining a well deserved second place.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Earlier this year the band appointed Kevin Holdgate as MD and he has already put his own stamp on the concert programme and has now made his mark on the contest results.
Alongside rehearsals for the regular concert programme, it is with enthusiasm and high hopes that the band is starting work on the test piece for the regional heats of next year's national championships."
