4BR has been informed that the Butlins Mineworkers Championships have confirmed that they have now received at least 100 entrants for the 2009 event to be held in Skegness.

Money and effort

Organiser Brian Eggleshaw told 4BR: "Working along with ourselves, Butlins have put a lot of money and effort into making this event one of the premier band festivals in the brass band calendar.

Faith

"I realise that the larger entry we have results in a greater workload for me, but I am happy that this also demonstrates that the bands support us and have faith in what we are doing on behalf of the brass band movement."
