Cardiff Canton Salvation Army Band concludes their 125th anniversary Celebrations with a landmark concert with reigning European Champion Cory, on Saturday 1st November.
Culmination
The concert is the culmination of a year long celebration that has included concerts and fund raising events such as a sponsored bike ride along the Taff trail and social evenings.
Premieres
The concert will include the world premiere of three specially commissioned works from three eminent composers.

Bandmaster Carl Saunders told 4BR: "We are looking forward to presenting three brand new works written especially for us for the evening. Colonel Ray Steadman Allen has composed ‘Fantasia On Cardiff’, whilst Kenneth Downie has provided well a beautiful arrangement of the famous Welsh choral favourite "Myfanwy".
We will also combine with Cory to give the premier of a fabulous concert Intrada entitled ‘Dragons and Legends’ written for us by Martin Cordner."
Transatlantic tour
The end of this year will see the band embark upon its first Trans-Atlantic tour to California, having been invited by the Salvation Army in Los Angeles to be the guest band in this years Pasadena Rose Bowl Parade as well as perform in services and concerts over the New year period.
