Changes at Blackpool Brass

New players are part of the Blackpool masterplan.

Blackpool

Having been on tour to Spain, releasing their recent CD ‘Beside the Seaside’, and a hectic summer season, Blackpool Brass is now moving onto their next initiative – to build a prize-winning First Section band.

As a consequence, they welcome several new players, each of whom brings with them years of experience.

Versatile

The versatile Janet Taylor, ex-Dobcross, has joined on 1st baritone, whilst Howard is displaying his talent on Eb Bass. Mark Shaw has returned on Ssprano and Judith Kenyon is enhancing the horn section.

The band’s solo euphonium of 20 years, John Brady, has given notice of his retirement but will play until his replacement is found. Other players such as Brian Harper and Philippa Cooper have commiteed to the band, and further announcements will be made in the near future.

Public thanks

A spokesperson told 4BR: "A public thank you to all players who have moved seats within the band to accommodate the new players and a further expression of gratitude is necessary to 4BR who continue to advertise and positively promote vacant positions."
