Children's Band gears up for Bridgewater

The National Children's Band of Great Britain is set for its second appearance of the summer in Manchester in early September.

Following on from a superb Summer Course which ended with a sell-out concert at the Artrix Theatre at Bromsgrove, The National Children’s Brass Band of Great Britain conducted by their Music Director Dr. Nicholas Childs will be making their debut appearance at the Great Northern Brass Arts Festival at The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester on Saturday 6th September at 2.15pm.

David Childs

Euphonium virtuoso David Childs will be once again appearing with the band as Guest Soloist as he did at the end of their course in 2007.

The programme of music selected by Dr. Childs is as follows:-

Liberty Bell — Sousa
Second Suite in F — Holst
Carrickfergus arr. — Roberts, Guest Soloist David Childs
The Hot Canary arr — Childs, Guest Soloist David Childs

Further emphasis on Youth

Following on from the performance of The National Children’s Brass Band of Great Britain, the bands of Wardle High School, Healey, Smithy Bridge & St. James Junior School will be combine to perform on the stage in The Bridgewater Hall.
