New signings hop on board at Tylorstown

Tylorstown Arriva Trains welcomes new faces on board in time for their trip to Harrogate.

Having qualified to represent Wales in September this year at the National Finals in Harrogate, the Tylorstown Arriva Trains Band has announced a numberof new signings.

Hopping on board

First to hop on board is Nick Garrett who joins on trombone. Nick played 2nd trombone in their recently qualifying performance at Swansea but has now moved onto bass trombone, replacing Jeff Clarke. Jeff has decided to hang his trombone up to pursue other interests after serving the band for mnay years.

The band have gone from strength to strength over the past 18 months. The additional signing of these quality players shows further intent as to where the band sees their futureMD Gary Davies

New duo

Meanwhile, husband and wife Andrew and Jane Pryse join on 2nd trombone and solo cornet respectively, and bring many years of top section experience having played recently with Treherbert and Mid Rhondda bands.

The percussion section is also now complete, as the band benefit from the talent and experience of ex-Cory timpanist Clayton McCann. Clayton joins from Mid Rhondda.

The band would also like to pass on their best wishes to husband and wife team Alan and Janice Bryant who are taking a break from the contesting scene to enjoy the more relaxing side of banding!
