The Newark Brass Festival, under the patronage of Denis Wick, is a new event designed to encourage and inspire young brass players through education, competition and performance and istaking place on January 24th and 25th 2009 at the Palace Theatre, Newark, Nottinghamshire.
It comprises a national competition which will be adjudicated by Paul Archibald, John Kenny, Nigel Black and Stephen Wick and is open to all brass players aged 11 to 30 with a minimum standard Grade 5 any syllabus4BR

Education workshop
Running alongside this will be an education workshop led by the Royal College of Music's Brass Ensemble and the event will culminate with a gala concert.
Information
Competition prizes will be to the value of £1,500 and our overall champion will be given a concerto date with the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra at Lincoln's prestigious Drill Hall.
