The West of England region dominated the prizes at this weekend's 31st Yeovil Entertainment Contest held at the town's Octagon Theatre.
PolySteel retain
Leading the way was defending Champion, PolySteel directed by Philip Harper in an exciting programme that gave them victory, the Chris Palmer Shield and a top prize of £2000 from adjudicator David Hirst.
Renton's inspired Camborne
Just one point behind came Camborne under the inspirational leadership of Frank Renton, who opted to set his band up in a different formation with the end result meeting with the approval of the man in the box.
Charles mounts third
To complete a hat-trick of podium prizes for the West, Mount Charles and Andrew Duncan gave a reprise of their Butlins entertainment programme. John Small's fine contribution gave him the fiercely contested Soloist Award.
The percussion section of Friary Guildford took the Best Section prize, whilst Tredegar's Steve Barnsley took the Best Soprano award.
