The Bandamonium organisation has announced that a new festival will take place in Eastbourne next year.
'Bandamonium Eastbourne' will take place on Saturday 28th August — becoming the third free for all festival in Bandamonium's calendar. It will also mark the trial of a new format with more local involvement in the planning and organisation while retaining the central Bandamonium ethos.
Proud
Founder Tim Williams said: "I'm incredibly proud to be bringing Bandamonium to Eastbourne and working with Eastbourne Silver and Kathy from Wealden Brass to be able to host it next August.
It's wonderful to be adding a third festival to our calendar. Eastbourne will be our seaside Bandamonium — so buckets and spades should be packed!"
Community brass banding
A delighted Marcus Pant, MD Eastbourne Silver Band, added: "We are proud to be part of the first Bandamonium in the South East. As the festival grows around the country this is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the love and community of brass banding.
We will be working closely with the festival team and fellow bands to help create a truly memorable annual celebration. Together, they will showcase the incredible talent, creativity and community spirit at the heart of brass banding."
Taking shape
Kathy from Wealden Brass added: "Plans are taking shape, with venues and other details to be announced as they are confirmed. Keep an eye on the Bandamonium website and social media feeds for updates.
