The Eagley Band has announced the appointment of he experienced Alan Widdop as its new Musical Director.

Wealth of experience

The band stated: "Alan brings a wealth of experience as a performer, conductor and adjudicator, with an outstanding brass band pedigree that includes Black Dyke, James Shepherd Versatile Brass, Marsden Band, Uppermill, Diggle, Whitworth Vale & Healey, Lindley Band and, most recently, Farnworth & Walkden Band."

They added: "Building on the success of our 175th anniversary celebrations, we are looking forward to an exciting new chapter under Alan's leadership, both on the concert stage and in the contest arena."
