Brass Bands England (BBE) has confirmed that registration for bands and ensembles wishing to enter the National Youth Championships of Great Britain is now open
The event returns to King Edward's School, Birmingham on Saturday 17th April, where last year over 1,200 young performers showcased their talents — from first time entrants to leading youth band competitors.
First come first served
Such has been the success of the event that registration is on a first come, first served basis. Should slots be filled quickly, and BBE reserves the right to close registration early and open a waiting list.
The Youth Champs offers four Section options to suit bands at every stage of their journey: The Showcase Section celebrates participation, creativity, and development, whilst the Performance Section offers a supportive, low-pressure environment for bands new to contesting.
The Yamaha Challenge Section is aimed at ambitious ensembles aspiring to Championship level in future years, with the blue-riband ABRSM Championship Section showcasing the very best youth bands in the country.
The highest placed English band in the Championship Section will be invited to represent England at the 2028 European Brass Band Championships to be held in Birmingham.
