Three Cornish bands will join forces for a special preview concert ahead of their long journey north to the Section 1-4 National Finals later this month.

The event will feature Pendennis Brass, St Pinnock Band and Lanner & District Silver — all crowned West of England Regional Champions in their respective sections earlier this year.

Cornish Gold

Appropriately entitled 'Cornish Gold: The Champions — Three Champions. One Destination', it takes place at Truro High School for Girls on Sunday 13th September (6.30pm), giving supporters and brass bands fans the chance to hear them put the finishing touches to their York, Barbican preparations.

"This is a chance for Cornwall to come together and support three outstanding bands who have done something special this year and support them before they head north to represent the region on one of the biggest stages in British brass banding."

Roche extra

Cornwall's representation at the National Finals will also include Roche Brass, who have also qualified. Unfortunately, the band is unable to take part in the Truro concert because of prior commitments, but their achievement will very much be part of the evening.

The spokesperson added: "Although Roche cannot be with us on the night, they are very much part of the story. We hope the audience will join us in wishing Roche, as well as Pendennis, St Pinnock and Lanner, every success in York."
