Fresh from their podium finish at the recent European Championships in Linz, Tredegar Band has welcomed the signing of Callum Hathaway to their percussion section.

Callum joins from City of Cardiff (M1) and, according to MD Ian Porthouse will become an integral part of an exciting team which is more than kept busy with the band's artistic outlook and schedule.

"Callum joins a great team that adds so much to our performances," he said. "That was heard in Linz, especially with our performance of Gavin Higgins' 'So Spoke Albion'. Callum will now add further to that and we are delighted that he joins us at such an exciting time for the band."

In response Callum, who is both a member of the National Youth Brass Band of Wales and the National Youth Brass of Great Britain, said: "I'm really excited about the opportunity to play with such a fantastic band and I'm looking forward to the new challenges and experiences this will bring."
