The two-day Drum & Brass Festival returns to Cumbria in July in the grounds of Historic Brougham Hall near Penrith.
The free event takes place on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July (11.00am each day) and will bring together brass bands from across Cumbria in a family friendly event which promises to bring the joy of brass music to a wider audience.
Focus
It will see bands entertain audiences with a mix of traditional and modern pieces linked to a focus on promoting the benefits and accessibility of local community music groups by showcasing a selection of beginner bands and youth bands.
There will also be workshops run by musicians from the Royal Northern College of Music and 'have a go' sessions that will encourage visitors to get hands on and try making some music themselves.
The first day will conclude with a Gala Performance featuring the Nova Brass Quartet and Queen Victoria's Consort.
The event is run by non-profit organisation Drum and Brass with support from the Arts Council England and Brass Bands England.
