Grimethorpe set for Pudsey Valentine's appearance

The unique brand of Grimethorpe brass band entertainment will be heard in Pudsey on Valentine's Day.

  The Leeds Best of Brass series continues with Grimethorpe Colliery Band

Grimethorpe Colliery Band will head to Pudsey Civic Hall on Saturday 14th February (7.30pm).

Directed by MD, Ben Dixon they will showcase a wide variety of musical genres — from Percy Grainger to Geronimo Gimenez, Monti to Howarth and lots more besides.

There is a great old march from John Carr, a Strauss fanfare and Wagner finisher, whilst you can also enjoy the band's top stars in solo action — with contributions from Jamie Smith, Andy Holmes, Mark Glover and Will Burton.

Tickets are going fast for what should be the perfect Valentine's Night entertainment.

The popular series will continue with Black Dyke Band (Saturday 28th February); Hammonds (Saturday 28th March); Rothwell Temperance (Saturday 18th April) and Brighouse & Rastrick (Saturday 9th May).

All events will take place at Pudsey Civic Hall (LS28 TA) at 7.30pm.

Tintwistle Band

July 16 • We have a vacancy for soprano cornet, and with lots of exciting engagements coming up would love to get this seat filled! As a second section band,we rehearse every Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our bandroom in Tintwistle under the baton of MD Jim Henson.
