Austrian celebration to be showcased at EBBC Gala Concert

An unforgettable celebration of Austrian music is promised at the Gala Concert of the European Brass Band Championships in Linz later this year.

EBBA Linz
The Gala Concert will be a celebration of Austrian music

The organisers of the 2026 European Brass Band Championships have announced details of the musical attractions that will be on offer as part of the EBBC Gala Concert in Linz.

Unforgettable celebration

Amt der Oö, Landesregierung, Direktion Kultur und Gesellschaft, Abteilung Kultur has promised that it will be, "an unforgettable celebration of Austrian music" on Saturday 25th April at the iconic Brucknerhaus.

The concert will showcase brass band artistry and traditional Austrian culture mixed into a rich tapestry of melodies, solo performances, traditional instruments, and exciting new brass band compositions.

Diatonic Expeditions

It will feature as the main artists, Diatonic Expeditions (above), a trio who perform repertoire from traditional Austrian music to modern world music.

They will be joined by Austrian champion Brass Band Oberosterreich under the baton of Gunther Reisegger, who will link up with the 2026 European Youth Brass Band conducted by Karl Geroldinger.

The featured soloists will include Felix Geroldinger, the 2018 European Solo Competition winner, as well as Christoph Kaindlstorfer, principal cornet of Brass Band OberOsterreich, and Tobias Tacacs, the renowned organist of the Brucknerhaus.

The concert will climax with the world premiere of 'Legacy of a New Era', composed by Markus Ridderbusch, which brings together both main brass bands as well as members of the youth and junior Brass Band Oberosterreich organisation alongside the huge organ and electronics.

Ticket sales

The general ticket sales for all European Brass Band Championships events will open at noon (CET) 20th January via the Brucknerhaus website and box office.
