The event returns later this year with the promise of it being bigger and better

Following the success of last year's inaugural event, the 'Lincolnshire Brass Band Showcase' is set to return in 2026 with the promise from the organisers that it "promises to be even bigger and better."

Undertaken by the Lincolnshire Music Education Hub, the showcase will take place on Saturday 6th June at St George's Academy, Sleaford, and brings together brass and percussion players of all ages and abilities from across Lincolnshire and surrounding counties for a full day of music-making, mentorship and community.

Community spirit

Sally Howley, Event Organiser and Partnership Manager for Lincolnshire Music Service told 4BR: "Last year's showcase saw 70 musicians from 13 different bands come together.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and demand has led to plans for an even larger event in 2026 — opening the door to more participants, more music, and an even greater sense of community spirit.

With a larger venue this year, the showcase will also feature a concert at the end of the day, giving a much wider audience the chance to enjoy the culmination of the players' hard work and celebrate the power of collective music-making."

Support

4BR was informed that Lincolnshire Music Education Hub's core funding is directed to supporting young people, with financial support from sponsors to help cover the additional costs of venue hire, transport, and logistics. This will allow the organisers to keep costs to a minimum for adult participants while continuing to provide valuable opportunities for young players.

Sally Howley added: "We were thrilled with the success of last year's showcase. This year, we're determined to make it bigger and better, with space for more players and a wider audience."
