2025 continues to be a busy year of performance and recording for composer Edward Gregson, with further opportunities to hear both his new and existing repertoire around the country over the next few months.
Performances
Forthcoming spotlights will occur at Chetham's International Piano Summer School in Manchester on August 16th, whilst there will be a trio of 'Rococo Variations' performances given by the National Youth Brass Band of Wales in Wrexham, Aberystwyth and Newport on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd August.
Over that Bank Holiday weekend, the world premieres of his solo cello work, 'Dances Old and New' and 'Aubade for String Orchestra' will be performed at the Presteigne Festival in mid Wales.
Belfast and London
October will also see the world premiere of 'The Light of the Gospel' played by the Ulster Consort in Belfast.
In London the National Finals weekend will see a special 80th birthday celebration at the Royal College of Music the night before 19 bands will perform his 'Symphony in two movements' at the Royal Albert Hall.
The month is rounded off with performances of his 'Horn Concerto' featuring Ben Goldscheider in Wilmslow, a celebratory concert at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a trio of 'Three Gods' Tenor Horn Concerto performances by Tim De Maeseener in Austria, France, Germany and Switzerland.

Dutch Nationals
November also sees the Dutch National Championships pay homage with performances in each section of 'Rococo Variations', 'Connotations', 'The Plantagenets' (new version), 'Occasion' and 'Partita'.
That will be followed by him giving a masterclass in Switzerland as well as a concert with Symphonic Brass music with brass students and student conductors of the Hochschule, before the wind band version of his 'Horn Concerto' will be performed in the USA and his 'Concerto for Piano and Wind' played closer to home at the RNCM in Manchester.
Recordings
All this and there is a new Chandos CD of his concertos for tuba, viola, oboe and two works for piano and orchestra due for release in November, as well one featuring Steven Mead playing his Euphonium Concerto, 'The Kings Go Forth' in Japan and a special Doyen Recording release that looks back over his 60 year compositional career.
