St Andrews Music Participation (StAMP) marks its fifth anniversary this weekend with a vibrant, day-long celebration of brass music in the heart of the historic town of St Andrews.
StAMP Brass is an award-winning initiative from the University of St Andrews with a mission to make brass playing accessible to all while celebrating the rich tradition of brass band music in Scotland.
In just five years, it has introduced over 1,000 young people to brass instruments and reached many more through schools, workshops, and public performances across Fife.
Made in Fife
The 'Made in Fife' Festival on Saturday 14th June sees two major public events with a focus on young talent, community musicians, and some of Scotland's premier brass ensembles.
Bandstand
It kicks off at 1.00pm with a StAMP 'Brass Extravaganza' at St Andrews Bandstand.
The free event will be led by participatory music specialists Oi Musica, for what promised to be a high-energy outdoor performance uniting more than 80 brass players from across Scotland.
Together they will premiere a brand-new, collaboratively created street band piece, celebrating the joy and power of making music in public spaces.
A spokesperson told 4BR: "Expect a dynamic mix of sound, rhythm, and colour in what will be an unmissable family-friendly event."

The performances will be directed by Katrina Marzella Wheeler, Alistair Gibson and Denise Crighton-Ward, and will showcase an ambitious programme of original brass compositions and symphonic works.
Highlights include the world premieres of two new pieces written especially for the young musicians who began their musical journeys with StAMP.
