Register importance at Tameside Whit Friday

Bands can make their Tameside Whit Friday experience easier with just a little bit of pre-planning.

  Tameside Whit Friday

The Friends of Tameside Whit Friday Brass Bands Contest (FTWFBBC) are inviting bands to pre-register their details ahead of their contests run in conjunction with Tameside MBC on Friday 13th June.

Announcing the request on its website, they state that it has been made in order to, "streamline our processes and to ensure we have the best contact info for all bands on the Tameside circuit both during and after the contests."

Provide details

Bands are asked to provide a contact name and telephone number that will be in use on the day. An email and postal address for written communication after the event is also requested, which they state will "not only help us to streamline our back office processes but should also speed up the registration process for your band at each contest venue."

They added: "Just tell the "booker in" at each venue you have completed the registration online and give your bands name and section."
Pre-registration is available until noon on Thursday 12th June 2025.

Further details and how to register can be found at: https://www.whitfridaybrass.org/

Bands with players under 16

The organisers are also making competing bands aware that they have to submit a BOPA return to Tameside Council's Education Welfare team following the event.

In order to comply with legal procedures for public events, bands that contain players of compulsory school age (5-16 yrs) must complete registration online and give the band name. It will also ensure that a band does not have to repeat the process at each individual contest.
