Aspiring young brass players from Ibstock Place School, Roehampton and Wandsworth primary schools received a huge musical boost recently as they enjoyed a side-by-side day of tuition from Friary Brass Band.
Play and learn
Head of Expressive Arts, Nic Walker, told 4BR: "The Ibstock Brass Day was designed to give young musicians the opportunity to play and learn from the skilled players of Friary Brass Band, and to perform repertoire on a grander scale than would normally be possible in their usual day-to-day settings."
He added: "It proved to be a huge success and culminated in some barnstorming joint performances!
Everyone present was stunned by the virtuosity of Friary's solo players in particular. It was a huge pleasure to collaborate with the band and we look forward to working with them again in the future."
